The 2013 Ad Award winners were announced at a special event this evening at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
The judging panel, which comprised members from the media and marketing industries, chose the winners from more than 100 finalists.
The chief executive of The Newspaper Works, Mark Hollands, said the quality of this year’s Ad Award entries was impressive.
“It’s very encouraging to see how high the standards are – and the fact they are rising every year, particularly across regional publishing,” he said.
Mr Hollands said the change in the agenda to align the Ad Awards with the Newspaper of the Year Awards at the Future Forum was made to encourage a total industry celebration of excellence, and was a popular decision among the industry.
“The industry has again taken in part in large numbers, and it’s been great to see a broad range of different newspapers and executives being named as winners this year.”
Mr Hollands also thanked paper supplier Oceanic Paper which is the sponsor of this year’s Ad Awards.
“We’ve been delighted to welcome Oceanic as sponsor of the Ad Awards this year,” he said.
The 2013 PANPA Ad Awards celebrations are part of the annual two-day Future Forum also incorporating the PANPA Newspaper of the Year Awards which will be announced at a gala dinner tomorrow evening, Thursday August 29.
