Commuter daily mX will be shut down by News Corp Australia, following a redesign only two months ago.
A News Corp Australia spokesman confirmed the title will cease to be published.
“News confirms the closure of mX in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane,” the spokesman said in a statement.
“The decision is a reflection of the changing reading habits of commuters who now turn to their mobile phones and tablets on their way to and from work.
“News will continue to invest in our extensive suite of print and digital products, which are purchased and read by millions of Australians every day.”
mX received a new logo and layout in May, as well as a revamped app designed to complement the print reading experience for commuters.
The paper is handed out for free to commuters at train stations across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane during the afternoon peak hour.
The last edition of mX will be published on June 12.
