The top three-ranked news sites all lifted their unique audience although their order remains unchanged, according to the latest Nielsen Digital Ratings (Monthly).
News.com.au continues its foothold in first place with a unique audience of 5.7 million, followed by smh.com.au with 4.8 million and ABC News Websites with 4.5 million.
The March ratings is the second time news brands have been ranked under Nielsen’s new measurement system, which captures unduplicated digital audience across PC, smartphones and tablets for both web browsers and apps.
Nielsen plans to transition to a daily, cross-device audience measurement system in mid-2016.
Daily Mail Australia jumped from sixth to fourth place with a unique audience of 3.3 million, pushing down ninemsn News Websites and The Guardian.
Yahoo7 News Websites overtook The Age for seventh position with a unique audience of 2.9 million
The Guardian leads the news app rankings followed by BBC and 7NEWS.
