A renewed focus on customers is behind the expansion of two key sales and marketing roles at News Corp Australia announced this week.
National sales director Sharb Farjami will take on further responsibility as leader of the publisher’s digital commercial strategy and customer solutions teams, while Bettina Brown, currently general manager – retail and media will also take on management of trade marketing.
The appointments are an important step in enhancing the connection between sales staff and their customers, according to group marketing director and interim group sales director Damien Eales.
“The rapidly changing environment requires a sharp focus on innovation,” Mr Eales said, “and these expanded roles will accelerate our ability to create cross-company value for advertisers across sales, marketing, editorial and digital product.”
A newly created role, advertising sales services director, will also be introduced to steer a consolidated operational service team. An executive search for this placement is underway.”
The three roles will all report to Mr Eales. The appointments of Mr Farjami and Ms Brown are effective from today.
