The number of Australians consuming news and current affairs content has grown to 13.4 million in July 2017, according to Nielsen Digital Ratings (Monthly) data.
The audience increase of 1 per cent over the month is reflected in limited movement within the top 10, with just two publications making significant gains.
News.com.au retained top position, increasing its unique audience by 11 per cent to 5.9 million. The Sydney Morning Herald’s website experienced the biggest audience change, with a 12 per cent increase to almost 4.2 million unique readers.
ABC News Websites reclaimed second place from nine.com.au, with audience gains of 4 per cent.
Neither the Daily Mail nor BBC reported changes in audience, while The Guardian and Yahoo7 News Websites both scored gains of 4 per cent.
The Daily Telegraph re-entered the top 10, moving past the Herald Sun to finish in 9th place. The change knocked The Age from 10th place.
