Former Ten Network Holdings chairman Nick Falloon will replace Roger Corbett as chairman of Fairfax Media later this year.
Mr Corbett announced last year he would not seek re-election and will step down at the end of August. Mr Falloon was appointed to the board yesterday as a non-executive director, and in a statement Fairfax said he will assume Mr Corbett’s role.
Mr Falloon has an extensive background in the media industry. He has served as both the chief financial officer and the chief executive of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, and as the executive chairman of Network Ten between 2002 and 2010.
Mr Corbett, a former supermarket executive, was appointed to the board in February 2003 and has been chairman for more than five years.
