News strengthens digital and programmatic teamsLou Barrett has been promoted to managing director, national sales.

News Corp Australia is strengthening its digital sales and marketing offering with two new appointments, tasked with leading the delivery of market-leading digital solutions for commercial partners. 

Neil Robinson will rejoin News in the newly created role of managing director, digital solutions, while Lou Barrett has been promoted to the new title of managing director, national sales. 

Mr Robinson will be responsible for the company’s evolving digital advertising proposition, leading the publisher’s programmatic division. The role will specifically focus on the management of data targeting capability through News Connect, commercial content capabilities and the advancement of digital partnerships.  

He will also be responsible for driving the local performance of Unruly and Storyful.   

His appointment follows a two-and-a-half year stint as chief revenue officer for global marketing technology business Rokt. Mr Robinson previously spent 13 years at News Corp Australia, holding several senior roles within the network advertising division. 

Ms Barrett will become the national lead for the advertising sales divisions, alongside managing the needs of national clients across print media, digital media and marketing services. 

This is the second promotion for Ms Barrett since joining the company 18 months ago, moving from the role of executive general manager network sales. 

Mr Robinson will work part-time from New York before moving to Sydney in July. Ms Barrett will commence her new role immediately.
