New Zealand’s premium ad exchange, known commercially as KPEX, has announced the appointment of Simon Birkenhead as its chief executive officer.
KPEX is a joint partnership between media organisations NZME, Stuff, Mediaworks and TVNZ, that acts as a private marketplace to sell digital inventory at scale.
Mr Birkenhead comes to the role with extensive knowledge in the digital arena. His previous role saw him launch the UK branch of business intelligence firm L2, which he led as managing director, Europe.
Prior to this, Mr Birkenhead was CEO of advertising technology company Axonix and Google’s global agency business leader.
Mr Birkenhead will commence his role Wednesday, August 1.
