Pacific Magazines, the publishing arm of Seven West Media, has announced it will restructure its senior management.
The changes will see the company consolidate around its strongest areas: mass weekly, real life and celebrity, home, health, fashion, youth and “defining moments” (i.e. teen, bridal and parenting).
The reorganisation, which Pacific Magazines director Peter Zavecz describes as a leaner operating model, will enable the company to “best leverage new growth and profit opportunities both locally and internationally”.
It also allows the group to “pursue continued integration and content opportunities with other Seven West Media assets,” he said.
The publisher of InStyle, Fiona Legdin, has been given additional responsibility as publisher of Pacific Magazines’ weekly portfolio, including flagship title New Idea as well as that’s life!, WHO and FAMOUS.
Karen Deveson will leading the group’s Homes and Health categories – Better Homes and Gardens, Home Beautiful, Family Circle and Your Garden, and Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Prevention, Diabetic Living and Bike.
Puzzles and “defining moments” titles Girlfriend, Bride to Be, Practical Parenting will come under the oversight of Mychelle Vanderburg, as she continues as publisher of youth mags Total Girl and K-Zone.
Jackie Frank will continue her role as publisher and editor of Marie Claire and will develop a number of special projects across Seven West Media which will launch later this year.
All appointments are effective immediately.
