Generation why-not

Pre-Boomers (born pre-1946) are 13 percent of the population and 11 percent of digital news readers. They may have been born before the IT revolution but that hasn’t prevented them from reading news media online.

The Generation Game

Baby Boomers (born 1946-1965) and Generation X (1966-1981) are virtually tied on population measures and digital news readership. There are slightly more Boomers than Gen-Xs– 28 percent of people 14+ for Boomers and 27 percent for Gen X – while Gen X leads as a percentage of digital readers – 29 percent for Boomers, but 30% for Gen X.

Gen Y (born 1982-1991) readership is in line with their population stats (17% of people 14+, 17% of digital readers), while Gen Z (born 1992-2005) are above average readers (13% of people 14+, 15% of readers).
