Katarina Kroslakova will fill the new role where she will work across The AFR Magazine, weekly supplement Life&Leisure, AFR Weekend, daily news and an upgraded lifestyle and luxury section on afr.com.
She will focus on the business of luxury and continue to edit and write for quarterly magazine Luxury.
Ms Kroslakova’s previous role as editor of Life&Leisure will be filled by Charis Perkins.
She served as acting editor for the past six months whilst Ms Kroslakova was on maternity leave.
Ms Perkins will also be responsible for producing lifestyle and magazine content online in conjunction with editors of Financial Review titles
Financial Review editor-in-chief, Michael Stutchbury and editor Paul Baily said this responsibility was “part of a determined push to raise the profile of Financial Review magazine and lifestyle content online to reflect the richness of what’s presented to readers in print”.
They said the two appointments would strengthen the masthead’s “strong position in producing a quality and depth of luxury and lifestyle editorial content”.
“The Financial Review’s core business readership audience provides an opportunity to extend to the luxury end of various consumer ‘verticals’, as shown by the Financial Review Domain Prestige weekly liftout and Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants initiatives,” they said.
