Applications extended for government’s innovation fund

The Australian government has extended the deadline to apply for the Regional and Small Publishers Innovation Fund to Friday, August 10.

The grant scheme will allow incorporated companies with an annual turnover of less than $30 million to apply for grants of up to $1 million. The total funds for the scheme will be made available over three years.

Eligibility requirements dictate that publishers must pass an Australian residency test and use the funds to produce public interest journalism to benefit Australians.

Interested publishers now have an additional two weeks to apply for the grants. More information can be found on the ACMA website.
