Mr Miller invited industry experts to chime in on the topic, including Sophie Fletcher, head of convergence and operations at Dentsu Aegis Network; Cameron King, who serves as both the managing director of Digital Revenue at News Corp Australia and chairman of IAB Australia; and Clare Robinson, founder and leadership coach at Clarety Inc.
Ms Fletcher believed that investing heavily in technology will create the automation and digitisation imperative to a business’ survival.
“Automation is really crucial for our success because we’ve got huge amounts of data coming at us. If we don’t automate and digitise our businesses, it’s going to be quite difficult to navigate through and be successful.”
Mr King, on the other hand, offered a contrasting view to that of Ms Fletcher, saying that “the industry is at risk of adopting to technology for the sake of technology”.
Ms Robinson is increasingly being asked to speak on the topic of change and wants to re-shift the way the media industry deals with rapid transformation.
“It’s when things are falling over that we’re really called in, versus proactive strategies for change, to support human beings through change.”
