Asking the right questions will be the focus of a panel discussion for media workers at the Mumbrella360 conference next week, as four experts in interrogation discuss techniques to obtain desired information from people and businesses.

Marketing strategist Rob Pyne, founder of X or Y Decisions and a strategy consultant for The Newspaper Works, will moderate the discussion.

Investigative reporter Nick McKenzie from The Age and the ABC’s Four Corners program will be on the panel, sharing his expertise in how the right queries can unearth key information – whether it is about material for an expose on bribery, or a marketing challenge for a major brand.

Joining Mr McKenzie will be Katie Rigg-Smith, the CEO of marketing company Mindshare, who will discuss the tough questions she asks her clients in the pursuit of marketing results.

The Newspaper Works chief executive Mark Hollands is also on the panel, bringing not only significant experience in journalism but also from Dow Jones and Gartner. Mr Hollands will talk about the big questions CEOs need to ask in business.

Documentary-maker and reality TV coach Trisha Stratford, a former hostage negotiator, will add insight to the panel.

The panel discussion is part of the Mumbrella360 conference in Sydney, and will begin at 11am on Thursday next week. To organise tickets, visit mumbrella360.com.au/tickets.
