News Corp Australia has appointed Kathryn Carter as its new sales director for NSW, which will see her focus on driving innovation in the publisher’s advertising service.

National sales director Sharb Farjami announced the promotion Ms Carter’s promotion, which will see her move  from her current role as group sales director.

“Kathryn’s extensive experience locally and internationally in a number of media organisations means she’s ideally placed to manage our NSW sales operations,” Mr Farjami said.

“We are continually enhancing our product portfolio, and Kathryn’s appointment will be instrumental in delivering and positioning this to our agency and client customers.

“Her relationships with our advertising partners are second to none, and I’m confident that her strong management and commercial skills will continue to deliver results. I look forward to working with her to further evolve our market approach and strategies.”

Ms Carter said she was excited about her new role.

Mr Carter has been in the media industry for more than 11 years, having worked for a number of leading companies around the world.

Prior to joining News in 2013, she was international sales manager for Hearst and The Guardian in the UK, and director of prestige brands at Mediacom.
