Close to 14 million Australians accessed news content online during April 2018, according to the latest Nielsen Digital Ratings (monthly), up half a million compared to the year prior. Close to 14 million Australians accessed news content online during April 2018, according to the latest Nielsen Digital Ratings (monthly), up half a million compared to the year prior.

The top five news entities remain consistent with last month’s ratings.

News.com.au was ranked at the top with a unique audience of 5.6 million. Nine.com.au followed at 4.8 million, then ABC News Websites (4.7 million) and Fairfax Media’s smh.com.au (3.6 million) at third and fourth place. Yahoo7 News Websites rounded off the top five with 2.8 million unique visitors.

BBC and Herald Sun demonstrated the biggest jump from last month, moving from ninth and tenth place to sixth (2.49 million) and seventh (2.46 million) respectively.

Daily Mail Australia on the other hand retreated from seventh to tenth place for the month, with a unique audience of 2.3 million.

In all 13.9 million accessed news online during the month.
