Mr Pellegrino has led Google’s Australian and New Zealand arm as managing director since May 2016. Prior to this appointment, he held several managerial and executive roles in sales and operations at the search company.

Domain chairman Nick Falloon said Mr Pellegrino’s extensive digital and sales experience made him fit for the role.

“We are delighted to have Jason join Domain as CEO,” Mr Falloon said. “Jason’s career as a digital executive with deep experience in sales, strategy, operations and product and technology speaks for itself.

“His leadership acumen and track record for inspiring and driving performance at Google will greatly assist him to take Domain, and its many talented people, into an exciting next stage of growth.”

Mr Falloon has led Domain in the months following the sudden departure of former CEO Antony Catalano in January.

Mr Pellegrino will begin his new role on August 27. At this time, Mr Falloon will return to his role of non-executive chairman.
