Newspapers should continue to focus on “solution selling”, and publishers must work more closely with media agencies, the CEO of The Newspaper Works said in a live interview this week.

Mr Hollands was speaking in a live video interview on Wednesday for media news site Mumbrella. An audio clip of the interview is available below.

“There is an opportunity for newspapers and newspaper media, newspaper publishers to engage more deeply with customers, work more closely with media agencies, and really present value propositions rather than rates and space,” he said.

The interview comes after the launch of the Influential By Nature campaign earlier this week, which highlights the social power and influence of newspaper media and makes the case for advertising in print.

Newspapers were among the first Australian institutions to go online, Mr Hollands said, addressing the innovation record of publishers and their foray into wearables, announced yesterday. “Fairfax are there right now,” he said.
