Peter, who has more than 25 years experience in the media sector, was previously Executive Director – Global Market Strategy at advertising technology solutions company Adstream, a role which saw him build regional and global partnerships for the company to expand its international footprint.
At NewsMediaWorks, Peter will lead the organisation to support Australia’s leading news media publishers, manage industry co-operation and communicate the sector’s value proposition to advertisers. This will include involvement in readership metric emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia), the News Media Index that reports whole of industry ad revenue and the industry’s annual conference, to be held this year in September.
During his career, Peter has worked extensively with news media and magazine publishers. He was Group Sales & Marketing Director at Fairfax Media, and at News Corp was Marketing & Circulation Director at Mirror Australian Telegraph Publications and Advertising Sales Director for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph. In the magazine sector he was National Advertising Sales Director with ACP Magazines (now Bauer Media) and Advertising Sales Director at Pacific Magazines. Peter joined Adstream as Australia Managing Director in 2004 to establish and grow the company in this market.
